UIN Bukittinggi Receives a Benchmarking Visit from the Senate Commission of UIN Sunan Kalijaga

Bukittinggi. Wednesday, July 26 2023. The Senate Commission of the State Islamic University (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta led by Siswanto Masruri, visited UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek in Bukittinggi in the context of benchmarking the state. This visit aims to strengthen relations between universities and exchange knowledge and experiences regarding the senate system and management in both institutions.

A total of 14 delegations from UIN Sunan Kalijaga arrived in Bukittinggi on 26/07/2023 and were immediately greeted by the senate and leadership. Both parties welcomed this visit warmly and are eager to share information.

The event was moderated by the Chairman of the UIN Bukittinggi Senate, Wedra Aprison. Also present were senate secretary Nunu Burhanuddin, along with members of the senate consisting of vice-chancellors.

“We are very pleased to be able to visit UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. This is a valuable opportunity for us to learn more about the state system that has been implemented at this university. We hope that this visit can provide new insights and inspiration for the development of the state unit at UIN Sunan Kalijaga,” said Siswanto.

“The size of an institution doesn’t matter, the older ones can learn from the younger ones, because the younger ones often create new breakthroughs,” he continued.

Meanwhile, the Chancellor of UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek, Ridha Ahida, in his remarks when a delegation from UIN Sunan Kalijaga arrived. “We feel honored and happy about this visit. Through the exchange of experiences and knowledge, we can enrich each other and improve the quality of the senate at both universities,” he said.

“UIN Sunan Kalijaga’s progress as one of Indonesia’s proud Islamic Universities has become a role model for us to be able to progress and develop and emulate all success in various aspects, especially academics,” he continued.

During the visit, the delegation from UIN Sunan Kalijaga held an open discussion regarding the sustainable development strategy of the Senate.

Senate Commission Bermawy Munthe also added, “We believe that with collaboration and exchange of ideas, we can achieve even better. The Senate must be a bridge to achieve common goals in improving the quality of education and producing quality graduates,” he said.

The benchmarking visit to the Senate between UIN Sunan Kalijaga and UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek apart from being a gathering place between fellow PTKINs, is expected to result in closer collaboration between the two institutions in various academic and non-academic fields, as well as having a positive impact on the advancement of higher education in Indonesia.

The visit of the UIN Sunan Kalijaga UIN Senate delegation to UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek has ended, but the spirit of exchange of knowledge and experience that was established during this visit will continue to illuminate the steps of the two universities in achieving academic success and continuing education.
