Bukittinggi, Monday, June 24, 2024 – The Electronic Selection System (SSE) for the 2024 State Islamic Religious Higher Education Entrance Exam (UMPTKIN) officially began today. A total of 1,058 participants who chose UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi as their test location participated in the exam, which will run for three days from June 24 to 26, 2024. The exam is being held at UIN Bukittinggi’s integrated laboratory.
The opening of SSE UMPTKIN this year was conducted simultaneously nationwide and officially inaugurated by the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas. The opening ceremony took place at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung and was attended by the entire leadership of 59 PTKINs across Indonesia. At UIN Bukittinggi, the event was attended by the Rector, Vice Rectors I, II, and III, and the head of the UAPK Bureau via Zoom meeting.

In his remarks, Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas emphasized the importance of implementing SSE as an effort to maintain integrity and transparency in the college entrance selection process. “This SSE is a significant step in ensuring that every participant has an equal and fair opportunity to pursue higher education at PTKIN,” said Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
The Rector of UIN Bukittinggi, Prof. Ridha Ahida, in the same opportunity, expressed her pride in the implementation of SSE UMPTKIN at UIN Bukittinggi campus. “We are ready to welcome the participants with the best facilities we have. We hope this exam runs smoothly and produces high-quality prospective students,” she said.
The 2024 SSE UMPTKIN exam at UIN Bukittinggi is expected to proceed successfully until the last day without any issues. Hopefully, through this exam, competent prospective students will be selected and ready to contribute to the development of Islamic religious higher education in Indonesia.

The exam participants are expected to follow all the exam procedures properly. The local committee at UIN Bukittinggi has also prepared all the necessary facilities for disabled participants to ensure the smooth implementation of the exam. On the first day of the exam, a total of 374 participants attended out of 420 registered participants, with 46 absentees. UM-PTKIN is one of the entry pathways to UIN Bukittinggi, and after the UM-PTKIN exam is completed, UIN Bukittinggi will be preparing to open registration for the independent pathway, UM-UIN Mandiri.
