UIN Bukittinggi Academic Community Holds Flag Ceremony for Pancasila Day 2024

Bukittinggi, Saturday, June 1, 2024 – The academic community of UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi held a flag ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Day 2024, with the theme “Pancasila, the Soul of National Unity Towards Golden Indonesia 2045.”

The ceremony took place at the Madinah Building field on June 1, 2024, at 7:00 AM WIB and was attended by all lecturers and administrative staff of UIN Bukittinggi. Participants wore traditional attire from various regions, showcasing Indonesia’s cultural diversity.

The Rector of UIN Bukittinggi, Prof. Ridha Ahida, acted as the Ceremony Inspector. In her speech, she read the mandate of the Head of the Pancasila Ideology Development Agency (BPIP) of the Republic of Indonesia, Yudian Wahyudi, who stated, “Pancasila unites us with all our ethnic, religious, cultural, and linguistic differences as we approach the centennial of a prosperous, independent, and sovereign Indonesia.”

Yudian’s message, read across Indonesia, urged all national components to utilize this historic moment to ground the values of Pancasila in every aspect of life. “As a static table, Pancasila has proven capable of uniting us in facing various waves of challenges and historical tests. As a dynamic leitstar, Pancasila is a guiding star that leads Indonesia to the gates of progress and prosperity in the current era of technological and informational globalization,” he explained.

He also emphasized the importance of using information technology wisely. “With the rapid advancement of information technology and the widespread use of smartphones, we must be wise in disseminating positive content that reflects the values of Pancasila in community, national, and state life.”

All national components are also expected to work together in preserving the gift of Pancasila. “We must collaborate and cooperate to maintain harmony and unity as an embodiment of practicing Pancasila values. May this Pancasila Day commemoration inspire us all to continue practicing Pancasila for a progressive, just, prosperous, and dignified Indonesia on the world stage,” he concluded.

At the end of the mandate, Prof. Ridha also conveyed a message regarding the preparation for submitting the accreditation form for AIPT. She invited all academic members of UIN Bukittinggi to actively participate in advancing the institution to achieve excellent accreditation. “Let us all commit and work hard to bring UIN Bukittinggi to achieve excellent accreditation, for the advancement of the institution and the success of the young generation studying at this campus,” the Rector urged.

Besides the flag ceremony, the event also featured a competition for the best traditional attire for both men and women. This activity added to the celebration’s vibrancy and highlighted Indonesia’s rich cultural diversity.
