Graduation and Farewell Ceremony for the Ma’had Al Jamiah UIN Bukittinggi Students Batch 2023/2024

Bukittinggi, Monday, July 1, 2024 – To mark the end of the dormitory training for the 2023/2024 batch of students, Ma’had Al Jamiah UIN Bukittinggi held a Graduation and Farewell Ceremony at the Student Centre Auditorium on Monday (1/7). The graduates included 134 students who had completed the memorization of Juz 30. In addition to the graduation, a farewell was held for 425 students who will no longer be staying in the dormitory, and they were given Certificates of Graduation (SKL).

Ma’had Al Jamiah UIN Bukittinggi has trained this 7th batch of students for one year with various comprehensive programs. The goal is to make them better individuals in understanding religious knowledge and ready to contribute to society.

The training included various aspects such as Tahfidz Classes, Aqidah Akhlak, Fiqh Ibadah, discipline in the series of worship, and competency development through practical workshops. Among them were methods for correctly and quickly memorizing the Quran, the practice of funeral management, foreign language workshops (Arabic and English), and socialization about free association and the dangers of drugs. Students were also given insights into the importance of maintaining physical and spiritual health.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Ushuluddin, Adab, and Da’wah (FUAD) UIN Bukittinggi, Prof. Syafwan Rozi, stated, “Religious training is one of the goals of Ma’had Al Jamiah to equip students with expertise in religious knowledge. Additionally, students are expected to become competitive individuals in the job market,” explained Prof. Syafwan Rozi.

Meanwhile, the Head of Ma’had Al Jamiah, Dr. Fahmil Samiran, hopes that the training provided can shape good personalities. “We hope that the students who have been trained for a year will become individuals with commendable morals. At the very least, Ma’had has instilled values of goodness that can be applied in daily life after leaving Ma’had,” he said.

Doni Nofra, Deputy of Ma’had for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, advised that the knowledge gained during the training should be applied in social and community life. “Never abandon prayer because it is the pillar of religion,” he emphasized.

A similar message was conveyed by Kori Lilie Muslim, Deputy of Ma’had for Student Affairs and General Administration. “The good training received at Ma’had should not end here, but rather be maintained and enhanced in life after Ma’had,” she said.

The Graduation and Farewell Ceremony for the Ma’had UIN Bukittinggi students batch 2023/2024 marks a new chapter for the students who have been equipped with religious knowledge, skills, and noble character.
