Bukittinggi, Wednesday, June 12, 2024 – Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi successfully held an Upgrading of Student Organizations event on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 11 and 12, 2024. The event, held at the Aula of Campus 1 Garegeh UIN Bukittinggi, aimed to enhance the capacity and performance of student organizations (Ormawa) within the campus.
The Student President, Darwansyah, shared his impressions and messages during the event. “I feel proud and grateful because this is the first event of its kind that we have held. I hope this event can be continued and developed even better in the future,” said Darwansyah.

The event was officially closed by the Rector of UIN Bukittinggi, Prof. Ridha Ahida. In her closing remarks, the Rector emphasized the importance of capacity building so that student organizations can be well managed. “Through this upgrading, we hope that student organizations can manage programs, budgets, and internal training more effectively. Once this activity is completed, all revisions to activities within the scope of Ormawa should be finalized immediately. It is expected that all activities can be maximized by October and activity reports can be completed by November,” explained Prof. Ridha.
With the success of this upgrading event, it is hoped that all Ormawa at UIN Bukittinggi can continue to innovate and improve their performance, thus contributing significantly to the progress of the campus and the wider community. As Prof. Ridha Ahida stated, “We hope this activity can serve as a strong foundation for a better and more professional future for student organizations,” concluded the Rector.

The closing of this upgrading event was also attended by Vice Rector III, the Head of Biro UAPK, Vice Deans III of all faculties at UIN Bukittinggi, advisors of Student Activity Units (UKM) and Special Activity Units (UKK), as well as all Ormawa administrators within UIN Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi. This demonstrates a full commitment to student capacity development through skill and leadership enhancement programs like this.
Vice Rector III, Arman Husni, emphasized the importance of continuing similar programs in the future. “This upgrading activity is very beneficial, and we all hope that it can be continued in the coming years.
